Our commitment to rights of incarcerated

Women in prison face numerous challenges that can exacerbate their situations. These challenges include limited access to healthcare, inadequate mental health support, and often, a lack of proper legal representation. Lesbian inmates, in particular, can experience additional layers of discrimination and isolation. 

Equality and Fair Treatment: Every woman, regardless of her background or sexual orientation, deserves to be treated equally and fairly. We strive to eliminate all forms of discrimination within the prison system.

Dignity and Respect: We believe that every person has inherent dignity and should be treated with respect. Our advocacy focuses on ensuring that incarcerated women are treated humanely and their rights are upheld. 

Support and Empowerment: We aim to empower incarcerated women by providing them with the support they need to navigate the challenges they face. This includes access to legal aid, healthcare, education, and mental health services. 

Legal Advocacy: We provide legal assistance to incarcerated women to help them understand their rights and navigate the legal system. This includes representation in court, help with appeals, and support in cases of discrimination or abuse.

Healthcare Access: We advocate for improved healthcare services within prisons, ensuring that women receive the medical attention they need. This includes reproductive healthcare, mental health services, and treatment for chronic illnesses.

Mental Health Support: Mental health is a critical aspect of overall well-being. We work to ensure that incarcerated women have access to comprehensive mental health services, including counseling and therapy.

Educational Programs: Education is a powerful tool for empowerment. We support and promote educational programs within prisons to help women gain new skills, further their education, and prepare for life after incarceration.

Support for Lesbian Inmates: Recognizing the unique challenges faced by lesbian inmates, we advocate for their specific needs. This includes protection from discrimination and violence, access to supportive services, and the creation of inclusive policies that respect their identities.
